Computer cookies located in Windows folder named "Cookies".
How to open folder "Cookies" in Windows XP:
1. Click Start button on your Desktop;
2. Select My Computer, an explorer window will appear;
3. Open disk C by clicking on it with your mouse;
4. If message indicates that files in this folder are hidden, click link to show protected files;
5. Open folder "Documents and settings" by clicking on it with your mouse;
6. Then click with your mouse on the folder that matches your Windows logon name;
7. You will see folder Cookies there which is folder with your computer cookies. Click it with your mouse to open and review currently saved cookies. You can delete them by selecting and clicking "Delete" button on your keyboard. Or you can open them by double clicking with your mouse. Or even copy. As usual file.
In Windows Vista you can find "Cookies" folder by following next steps:
1. Click Start button (Microsoft logo) on your Desktop;
2. Select My Computer, an explorer window will appear;
3. Open disk C by clicking on it with your mouse;
4. Open folder "Users" by clicking on it with your mouse;
5. Then click with your mouse on the folder that matches your Windows logon name;
7. Now is a hard part (Vista only). We need to enable option to show hidden files, because in Windows Vista "Cookies" folder marked as hidden. Here is how you can quickly do it: Click ALT button on your keyboard. Menu bar on the top of explorer window will appear. Select Tools (services). Select Folder Options. You will see one more window, select View tab. Scroll down and set checkbox to show hidden files. Also uncheck checkbox that hides protected system files. Click Ok.
8. Now you're back in Explorer but you will see more folders, because hidden are visible now. Open "AppData" folder by clicking it with your mouse. Then open folder: "Roaming", open folder "Microsoft" inside it and open folder "Windows" inside. There you will be able to see "Cookies" folder.
Now open "Cookies" folder and you will see subfolder "Low" it also contain cookies, as well as parent folder.
Cookie files in "Cookies" folder created from many Microsoft's programs. Such as: Windows, Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, Live Messenger, MSN Explorer and many more. If you're interested in finding cookies of other non-Microsoft products you should refere to other articles at our web site. See menu on your left for navigation and search. The right way to manage cookies is to use special solution.
On Windows Xp and Windows Vista you can find file INDEX.DAT located in the Windows Cookie folder. What is it and how you can work with it you can find in another article on this web site in the Category about INDEX.DAT files (see menu on the left).
Note that cookies you can see in the Temporary Internet Files is the same cookies as in "Cookies" folder.
